Cinnamon Spice Popcorn
My whole family freaks over popcorn. It totally stems from my dad. He looooves popcorn. When we were little, my older sister, Tiffany, and I used to creep downstairs after we’d gone to bed and sneak into the kitchen to get our little wooden bowls out of the cabinet. We’d slowly walk into the living room where my parents were watching tv and put on our best pouty faces for our dad. He would be sitting on the couch enjoying his big bowl of popcorn. Reluctantly he would fill up our bowls, watch us eat our little snack, and then send us back to bed. I will never forget those nights and now often find myself sharing a big ‘ol bowl of popcorn with my husband in the evenings. I make it on the stove in our big pot. Microwave popcorn is okay, but it could never compare to popping kernels on the stove. Plus, there is never enough popcorn in the microwave bag!!
With fall slowly (and I do mean slowly) creeping in, I’ve been craving the flavors of cinnamon and clove. I decided to try out my hand at this recipe and boy am I glad I did. Wow, we’re talking delicious! I have a feeling this will be my new favorite way to eat popcorn…especially this time of year.

8 cups popped popcorn
1/4 cup canola oil
1/4 cup raw honey
1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
Preheat oven to 225 degrees. In a small skillet, heat canola oil over low heat. Stir in honey, cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves. Continue stirring a few minutes until combined and warm.
Add popcorn to a large bowl. Pour honey syrup over popcorn and toss with a spatula to combine. Spread popcorn on a parchment-lined baking sheet and bake for 15 minutes. Now, try not to eat the whole thing in one sitting!

I have never popped popcorn in the oven before!! Dude this is so dinner tongiht!
I mean tonight. – Man I can’t spell.
You don’t actually pop the corn in the oven. The oven just helps the syrup to stick and harden to the popcorn.
I’m going to stop commenting because I obviously can not read. Or spell for that matter…. Love ya!
Mmmmm, I’ve been thinking about popcorn recipes for M’s birthday party and this might just be a good one. :) Is it very sweet?
No, it’s not overly sweet because you’re not adding sugar. It probably all depends on how sweet your honey is.
I am a cinnamon FREAK. And I love the fragrance of cloves and nutmeg. I think I will try this with the niece and nephew.
I did it and added candy corns…sorry, I am a sugar freak :) Yummo!
My girlfriend is a popcorn fanatic and she will love this new flavor added into our movie-night rotation! Thanks for share your recipe!
Looks delicious – I should probably make this for my solo movie night tonight! :)
What a great idea to use honey instead of sugar! It was delicious this evening and my family just loved it. Thank you!
This was totally delicious! I substituted melted butter for the oil, and I halved both it and the honey, but it was still really sweet and a total delight! I bet it would even be good with a little sea salt sprinkled on top for a sweet & salty mix. Totally a keeper. Thanks!
Oooh this sounds awesome! I loors these flavors but never thought to pair them with popcorn. Can’t wait to try your recipe!
I meant love, not loors. Oh how I love touch screens…
